Open discussion about “The vineyard and the vilification”.

We participated at an open discussion event about “The vineyard and the vilification” that took place at Argiroupoli village in Rethymno at the 2nd of November. The main speakers were members from the wineries of the Association “Wines of Crete”: Oenologists – viticulturists John Galanis, Kostas Galanis, Stelios Klados and Antonis Dourakis.

The event was organized by: Cultural Association and Church of Argiroupoli village, The Center of Cretan gastronomy of the Agronutritional Cooperation of the Region of Crete” and “Wines of Crete”.

Wines of Crete photo exhibition

An event full of Cultural activities was held at the 20th- 21st of November. The event’s main theme, was about the famous Greek author, Nikos Kazantzakis called “7 Spots”. On this event, we organized a special photo exhibition with moments from the Cretan vineyard combining them with quotes from Nikos Kazantzakis, at Mirtia Village, Heraklion at the square of Museum Nikos Kazantzakis. We also organized a wine tasting for the guests combining them with Cretan delicacies! You can see photos from the event HERE.

Wines of Crete at Meininger’s

“Wines of Crete” presented as a notable Winemakers association, on the article of Gregory Michailos, WSET Dip, at the international wine professional magazine “Meininger’s”.

Wines of Crete at the international conference “Heritage and development of Vine and Wine territories”.

Wines of Crete, participated at the international conference “Heritage and development of Vine and Wine territories”. This multidisciplinary conference, organized by the UNESCO Chair “Culture and Traditions of Wine” of the University of Burgundy, the Municipality of Thira, the Greek Wine Federation (SEO), the Interprofessional Organization of Greek Vines and New Wines of Greece, and the Agricultural University of Athens, aimed to present and compare the recent studies of all disciplines related on this broad field, focusing on the actors, the practices and the process of valorisation of natural or erected landscapes in the world heritage.
