A new and inspired ad of the “Wines of Crete” at the “Blue” magazine of Aegean Airlines was published in March.
“Same origin, all unique” is the slogan of the advertisement.
How can an island have 11 different indigenous grape varieties? The answer is complex, but absolutely reasonable. Just look the Cretan landscape, the Cretan Cuisine and Cretan tradition. All these unique, in every aspect. How could it be different for the grapes? Being unique is common in Crete. As unique is the winetourism experience in Crete!

For the 7th year, the Winemakers of Crete organized “OINOKRITIKA”. 30 Wineries from all over the island, participated at the Cretan wine exhibition in Chania. Many visitors and professionals visited to taste the wines of the Cretan vineyard and participated at the many activities that were organized through the days (Photos).
24,25&26 February 2014- “Vinisud Montpellier”
For the first time, a Greek Region participated at the most important Mediteranean Wine Fair, “Vinisud Montpellier”. «Wines of Crete», organized a special wine master class presenting the Cretan Vineyard and micro classes, during the exhibition at the kiosk of “Wines of Crete”. At the”Vinisud” ‘s wine tasting area (Palais Mediteraneen), an area where only wine professionals and reporters have access, 21 labels of the Cretan Vineyard were presented and tasted. ITB BERLIN 5-9 March 2014
«Wines of Crete» in cooperation with the Region of Crete were in ITB Berlin to show the oenotouristic side of the island through detailed presentations and wine tastings of course!
ΟΙΝΟΤΙΚΑ 2014 , 15-17 March 2014
Over 2.500 winelovers and professionals visited the exhibition of the Cretan Vineyard «ΟΙΝΟΤΙΚΑ 2014», organized from the Winemakers of Crete for the 6th year, at “Kipos ton Aisthisewn”, in Malades, Heraklion.
This year exhibition included:
1) A grouped presentation of the rose wines in separate wine bar
2) An organized Cretan wine shop.
3) Wine Seminar “Advices of getting to know your wine”, by Simos Georgopoulos. (Photos)
4) Cooking Show “From Konstantinoupolis (Instabul) to Crete”, with Maria Ekmekcioglou, presenter of the cooking show “Apo tin Poli erxomai” in cooperation with Cretan Food News, presenting Crete’s and Instabul’ s recipes. (Photos).
